The GREENING OF EPIPHANY committee has planned to spread the greening out during a 4-week period, beginning on Sunday, Dec. 3 and ending on Saturday, Dec. 23.
This will spread out the festive atmosphere for all to enjoy before the final pieces come into place on Christmas Eve.
So, with that said, we will need help on Dec. 3, Dec. 10, Dec. 17, so mark your calendars & see if you can be of assistance any of those Sundays (beginning at 11:30 am) and also on Saturday, Dec. 23 (beginning at 9:00 am – 12 noon).
Dec. 3 – We will hang the large wreath on the back wall, hang the Christmas quilt & display Nativity needlepoint (NEED a brave soul who is not afraid of heights to climb a ladder).
Dec 10 – We will put up & decorate the artificial tree in the back of the church.
Dec 17 – We will hang the greens from the rood beam, put bows on artificial wreaths & hang in Chancel and hang Christmas banners. (NEED brave souls to be on a ladder).
Dec 23 – Finally, change altar hangings from blue to white, arrange fresh poinsettias around church, decorate window sills, decorate wall sconces with greens and bows, decorate 2 live trees on either side of altar rail, assemble crèche in front of altar and bring Advent wreath to floor to put fresh greens on.
